What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator II position at Vernier Metal Fabricating, Inc?
Job Summary
Precision TIG (and MIG) weld or join metal components (aluminum, steel & stainless steel) of fabricated metal products. Can predominantly work independently; with little to no guidance.
Essential Functions
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and/or product specs of desired product
- Calculate and mark the dimensions of metal parts to be welded
- Inspect material and ensure all parts are properly fitted/aligned before welding
- Use of TIG (and sometimes MIG) welding
- Continuously check precision weld quality
- Move product to and from different areas as needed; the use of manual hand trucks and hydraulic assisted hand trucks
- Maintain a clean work area and keep up supplies needed to complete daily work
- Other duties may be assigned
