What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator I position at Vernier Metal Fabricating, Inc?
Job Summary
Perform MIG and TIG precision welding working with aluminum, steel and stainless-steel metals. Can predominantly work independently; with little to no guidance.
Essential Functions
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and product specs to weld and assemble independently
- Inspect material and ensure all parts are properly fitted/aligned before welding
- Check work to maintain tolerance specifications using a dial caliper and other precision measuring instruments
- Move product to and from different areas as needed; the use of manual hand trucks and hydraulic assisted hand trucks
- Maintain a clean work area and keep up supplies needed to complete daily work.
- Other duties may be assigned
Work Environment
Fast paced and continuous work. Variety of jobs, to include both production and specialized jobs working with aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Monday- Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm. Possible overtime, when needed. Steel Toed or Composite foot wear is required .
What you will need to be successful…..
- High School Diploma or GED with 5-7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3 years' experience with precision welding work
- Previous work experience in Mig and Tig welding
- Basic knowledge in math
- Must be able to read basic gages/meters
- Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions in English
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs; sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Must follow directions and work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
