What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Designer position at Verity?

Verity is the global leader in autonomous indoor drone systems. Our integrated inventory tracking system enables zero-error warehousing for big box retailers, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturers.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior user experience designer (UX/UR) to join our team at Verity. You will be key to bridging complex technical and business problems into intuitive user-facing solutions. If you're passionate about systematic user research, collaborating on innovative designs, and transforming insights into effective and aesthetically pleasing interfaces, then we want you. Your role will involve analysis of user behaviors, needs, and motivations, coupled with a creative approach to problem-solving. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic team environment and is eager to drive projects from concept to completion.

Verity’s system is used by industry leaders around the world, including DSV and Maersk. Verity's live events solutions help create stunning effects for top names in the entertainment industry like Drake, Céline Dion, Justin Bieber, Metallica, and Cirque du Soleil.

What you’ll do

  • Design, conduct, and apply findings from both qualitative and quantitative user research.
  • Bridge the gap between technical and business processes to create intuitive user-facing solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Commercial Team to deepen understanding of user needs.
  • Lead and coordinate our UX initiatives
  • Develop and refine prototypes and wireframes using Figma.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to current interfaces based on research insights.
  • Work seamlessly within an agile development team, effectively communicating with developers.

What you bring

  • Independence and self-management with an ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of the bigger picture, focusing on what truly matters.
  • Confidence in advocating for your ideas and a strong belief in your design decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a team environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the UX field.
  • Formal training in UX design or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven abilities in conducting thorough user research.
  • An eye for design, with experience in simplifying complex systems into user-friendly flows.
  • A history of working on large-scale projects, demonstrating your ability to break down intricate systems into easily understandable user experiences.

Why you'll love verity

  • Flexibility of a hybrid work environment. You can arrange start and finish times around your life (picking up kids, walking the dog, training for your next marathon at lunch)
  • A great engineering culture, including flat hierarchies, an open-door policy, and a focus on joint responsibility and mutual trust and support
  • Working with a skilled, high-achieving, experienced, and fun team—with lots of opportunities to develop your professional career and grow with the company
  • Annual team-building events, quarterly and monthly get-togethers, knowledge-sharing talks, game nights, and more
  • 25 days of annual leave, employee stock ownership plan (conditions apply), variety of pension plans, and relocation packages
  • Welcoming office space complete with friendly team members, free snacks (fresh fruits, coffee, and more!), and fun activities—we’re dog-friendly!
