Epic Project Manager - Healthcare IT

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex healthcare IT implementation initiatives involving the Epic Systems platform. This role will oversee cross-functional teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure successful implementation, optimization, or enhancement of Epic applications across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare technology, enterprise project management, and stakeholder engagement, with proven success delivering projects in fast-paced clinical and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for Epic-related initiatives, including implementation, upgrades, optimization, and integration projects
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, clinical operations, vendors, and executive stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to leadership
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively develop resolution plans
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder communication
- Support change management and user adoption strategies for Epic solutions
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data security standards, and organizational policies
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to align project goals with business objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business, or related field
- 5 years of project management experience in healthcare IT environments
- Hands-on experience managing projects involving the Epic Systems platform
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical systems, and operational processes
- Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Epic certification(s) in relevant modules
- Experience with system integrations, data migration, and workflow redesign
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory standards such as HIPAA
- Master’s degree in related field
