What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Rep – Government, Telecom & Commercial position at Veritas Vans?
We build Starlink mounting systems, portable power products, and mobile connectivity solutions for fleets, field teams, and off-grid professionals. Our products are used by government agencies, telecom crews, emergency responders, and commercial operators who need reliable connectivity anywhere.
We're growing fast and looking for a sales rep who already has relationships in the industries we sell to — not someone who's still building their network.
🔹 What you'll do
• Own the full sales cycle from outreach to closed PO
• Use your existing contacts in government, telecom, utilities, or commercial fleet to open doors quickly
• Build and manage a pipeline of fleet, OEM, and dealer accounts
• Quote and close deals directly — working hand-in-hand with the founder
• Show up at trade shows, customer sites, and industry events
• Feed market intel back into product and pricing decisions
🔹 Who we're looking for
• You have real relationships in one or more of these: federal/state/local government, telecom carriers or tower companies, utilities, first responders, construction, or commercial fleet
• You've sold physical hardware or technology products — not just software
• You can run a deal independently without being managed
• You're comfortable in a small, fast-moving company where the playbook isn't written yet
• You understand Starlink, mobile power, or field connectivity — or you pick things up fast
🔹 Nice to have
• Experience with GSA contracts or government procurement
• Contacts at Starlink resellers, RV/overland dealers, or fleet upfitters
• Background in utilities, public safety, or disaster response
🔹 Compensation
• Base: $80,000 – $95,000
• Commission: % of revenue
• OTE year 1: $120,000 – $150,000
