Latin Teacher at Classical Christian School

Veritas Classical Academy, a JK-12 Classical, Christian School in Southern California, is hiring a Full-time or a Part-time Latin Teacher for primary grades (3th-6th) and secondary grades (7th-10th) for the 2026-2027 school year. The vision of Veritas is to raise up Gospel culture shapers by discipling students to delight, discern, and display the glory of God in Jesus Christ in every area of culture.

Bachelor and/or graduate degrees in education and/or subject-related areas are preferred. Teaching experience in Christian/classical schools are highly desired. Must be able to teach up to 4th year of high school Latin. The teacher’s specific role is to train the students with a balance between the rigor of Latin grammar and the joy of Latin culture, history, and literature.

Responsibilities:

• For the PT Primary Latin Teacher: Teach 2 or 3 Latin classes, from 3rd to 6th grade.
• For the PT Secondary Latin Teacher: Teach 3 Secondary Level Latin courses
• Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and character development.
• Foster a love for learning and critical thinking.
• Create engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s educational vision stated above.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and actively engage in their academic progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning experiences
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Latin, Literature or History preferred (Master's degree preferred).
• Prior experience (2-5 years) teaching humanities at the secondary level (or at the primary level, if PT)
• Familiarity with classical Christian education principles.
• Member of a Reformed or Evangelical Church
• Commitment to integrating biblical worldview into the learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students and to shepherd their hearts
• Commitment to building a Christ-centered community and culture at Veritas
