Position Objective
To support the safe, efficient operation of Veritas Christian Academy’s facilities and grounds, ensuring the campus is well maintained and reflects a positive image to the Veritas community and the public. Position Details
- Department: Facilities
- Reports To: Facility Manager
- Salary: $41,000 annually
- Hours: Generally 7:30am-4:00pm; however more information will be shared during the interview with the Facilities Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Facilities Assistant will:
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all campus buildings and grounds.
- Inspect playground facilities regularly and complete necessary repairs to ensure safety (work orders generated twice annually).
- Supervise, schedule, and monitor outside service providers as directed.
- Assist with routine bus maintenance (work orders generated biweekly).
- Support effective and timely communication with faculty and administrative staff regarding facility needs and repairs.
- Order parts and supplies required for maintenance and repair projects. Communication with the Manager for higher purchases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date work orders and follow the daily task list provided.
- Assist with morning and afternoon car rider line duties.
- Maintain offices, shop areas, and storage spaces; provide assistance to the cleaning crew as needed.
- Perform lawn care and general grounds maintenance.
- Inspect emergency lighting and fire extinguishers monthly (work orders generated monthly).
- Assist with special events and programs as assigned, which may include occasional weekend work.
- Serve as on-call backup for facility-related emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, break-ins), which may include weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to navigate stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to operate power tools and equipment
- Ability to tolerate exposure to hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, bend, and perform physical tasks as required
- Ability to safely operate school vehicles and equipment
