Supplier Manufacturing Engineer

We’re looking for a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to lead supply chain development, improve manufacturability, and support repair process innovation. In this role, you’ll serve as a key technical leader working cross-functionally to strengthen supplier performance, reduce costs, and enhance quality across our operations.
What You’ll Do- Identify, develop, and qualify suppliers for materials, components, and repair services
- Lead supplier manufacturing and technical reviews for new parts and new suppliers
- Drive cost reduction and lead-time improvements through supplier optimization
- Develop repair processes and technical Statements of Work (SOW)
- Evaluate manufacturability and producibility for new product introductions
- Support material review processes (RMRA, DMR, SAR, FP) and corrective actions
- Serve as a technical auditor for First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Ensure compliance with Vericor Quality Delivery Procedures (VQDP)
- Participate in and support supplier audits
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, finance, and program teams
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and manufacturability
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
- 5 years of manufacturing experience (gas turbine experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, castings, forgings, fabrication, etc.)
- Experience with technical drawings, bills of material, and industrial manufacturing
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis (FMEA, Fishbone, 8D, etc.)
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required
Preferred Qualifications:
- AS9100 / AS9102 knowledge
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) experience
- Supplier or internal auditor certification
- PMP or other project management certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
- Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen experience
- Be a key contributor in a growing, high-performance engineering environment
- Work on impactful projects that shape supplier strategy and product quality
- Collaborate with experienced leaders and cross-functional teams
