Job Description


The Electronics Repair Technician I
is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic
equipment and systems. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, replacing
defective components, and ensuring equipment is restored to optimal working condition. The technician
will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support operational efficiency.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment Troubleshooting, Repair, and Maintenance - Perform diversified duties to modify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment/components. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments. Provide repairs of electrical equipment and components. Read and interpret equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, drawings, diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Perform soldering and desoldering as needed.
  • Safety, Quality, and Compliance - Detect faulty operations or defective material and report unusual situations to supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Operational Support and Communication - Communicate issues, abnormalities, or conditions that require attention to supervisors or team members.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two (2) years working in an industrial electrical service repair position with switchboards, motor controls, E-houses preferred; electronics and/or computer repair is helpful.
  • Must have soldering experience.
  • Electronics background.
  • Experience in repairing, constructing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment including installing, calibrating, and testing electrical building infrastructure, control systems, and equipment, cutting, threading, bending, coupling, and strapping electrical conduit wiring, troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and inspecting circuits/wiring for shielding and grounding, testing electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Confident working with electrical equipment, components, and mechanical/electrical systems; strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Skilled in soldering/desoldering and performing precise component repairs.
  • Able to diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, manuals, SDS, and other technical documents.
  • Strong technical aptitude with solid math skills for measurements and component evaluation.
  • Committed to safe work practices and maintaining clean, hazard‑free work areas.
  • Effective verbal and non‑verbal communicator across diverse teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Basic PC skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

The role requires clear, concise, and professional communication to support safe and efficient
equipment operations. The technician must effectively report equipment issues and abnormal
conditions to supervisors, share technical information with maintenance, engineering, and
production teams, and coordinate repair activities to minimize downtime. Regular interaction with
internal customers is expected, requiring courteous, service oriented communication. The
technician must also communicate safety concerns promptly and reinforce established safe work
practices.


Additional Information

  • Pay Rate: $23.00 and up, DOE
  • Hours: 1st shift (Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm)
