Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Store Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with product displays, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily store activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for creating a positive shopping environment. Bilingual abilities and prior supervisory experience are a plus, but not required.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems for checkout transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stock levels
- Restock shelves and manage inventory through stocking activities
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone and in person
- Support sales initiatives through suggestive selling and product recommendations
- Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, including cashiering and POS system operation
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles but not mandatory
- Bilingual proficiency is desirable to serve a diverse customer base
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within grocery or retail stores
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
