Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000 Annually
Position Summary
The Arbor Manager provides leadership, direction, and accountability for all arbor operations, including tree care services, pruning, removals, risk mitigation, and arbor-related enhancements. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the arbor function by directing crews, ensuring safety and quality standards, improving operational efficiency, supporting profitability, and strengthening client relationships.
The Arbor Manager oversees day-to-day arbor operations while partnering with sales and account management teams to identify and support arbor enhancement opportunities. This position ensures all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and industry standards (ANSI, ISA, OSHA).

Key Responsibilities
Arbor Operations & Production Management
· Direct day-to-day activities of arbor crews, foremen, and specialists
· Plan, schedule, and oversee arbor work including pruning, removals, risk mitigation, and plant health care
· Ensure crews clearly understand job scope, production goals, and safety requirements
· Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor quality, productivity, and compliance
· Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet production schedules
Enhancement Support & Technical Expertise
· Partner with sales and account management teams to identify arbor enhancement opportunities
· Provide technical input, scope development, and production planning for arbor proposals
· Support accurate job costing, labor planning, and execution of sold work
· Serve as a technical arbor subject-matter expert for clients and internal teams
Leadership & Team Development
· Hire, train, coach, and develop arbor team members, including foremen and crew leaders
· Set performance expectations and hold teams accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards
· Lead safety meetings, tailgate talks, and job hazard assessments
· Enforce company policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards
· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Client Relationship Management
· Participate in client meetings, site walks, and issue resolution as needed
· Support client retention by ensuring arbor work meets or exceeds expectations
Financial & Performance Management
· Monitor labor efficiency, productivity, and job performance
· Review job cost reports and production metrics to identify improvement opportunities
· Support branch performance goals related to quality, efficiency, and profitability
Safety, Compliance & Quality
· Enforce all company safety policies and procedures
· Ensure arbor work complies with ANSI A300 standards, ISA best practices, OSHA requirements, and local regulations
· Conduct quality inspections to confirm workmanship meets company standards
· Maintain professional appearance and conduct of crews at all times
· Protect company assets, client property, and public safety

Qualifications
Required
· Minimum 5 years of experience directing arbor or landscape crews with a primary focus on tree care operations
· Strong technical knowledge of commercial tree trimming, pruning standards, removals, plant health care, and arbor safety practices
· Proven experience overseeing arbor production, including scheduling, labor planning, and field execution
· Demonstrated ability to lead crews, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship
· Ability to analyze job conditions, operational needs, and field constraints to develop effective execution plans
· Ability to read and interpret arbor scopes of work, work orders, and landscape plans
· Strong organization, prioritization, and workload management skills in a field-based environment
· Proficient written and verbal communication skills
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Preferred
· ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
· Experience with commercial, HOA, or municipal properties
· Working knowledge of job costing, budgeting, and P&L management
· Bilingual English/Spanish
