Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established accounting procedures. This role supports the Accounting Department’s monthly close process and works closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are representative of the role but are not all-inclusive. Employees are expected to perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
- Process accounts payable invoices with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring proper coding and required approvals
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, pricing, and payments
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensure invoices are paid in accordance with payment terms and internal procedures
- Process due invoices for payment and monitor aging reports
- Review monthly vendor statements, identify outstanding invoices, and request missing documentation as needed
- Compare purchase orders, pricing, terms, and additional charges for accuracy
- Monitor the Accounting department email inbox and route invoices appropriately
- Provide payroll processing support as a backup to the Accounting Manager
- Assist the Accounting team with tasks necessary to support an accurate and timely month-end close
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an accounting department with hands-on accounts payable responsibilities

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor when handling sensitive and confidential information
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Strong time-management and workload-prioritization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
