Experience Required: 13 Years (Strong Snowflake Administration Experience Mandatory)

This is strictly a Snowflake Administrator role, not a Snowflake Developer position. Candidates must have extensive hands-on administration, infrastructure, and platform management experience in Snowflake environments.

We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Administrator to manage, optimize, and support Snowflake environments across development, sub-production, and production landscapes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake administration, automation, performance tuning, security, and cloud infrastructure (AWS), along with strong scripting capabilities in Python and Unix.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Administration

• Administer Snowflake environments (Dev, QA, Prod, Global)
• Create and manage:
• Databases, schemas, tables, views
• External stages and storage integrations
• Manage and optimize:
• Multi-cluster warehouses
• Query performance and workload scaling
• Implement and manage Snowflake features:
• Streams, Tasks, Cloning, Time Travel
  
  

Automation & Scripting

• Develop Python scripts to automate Snowflake administrative tasks
• Enhance and maintain Python-based ELT pipelines
• Utilize Unix shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency
  
  

Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS)

• Work with AWS services including:
• S3, EC2, EKS
• Support Snowflake integration with cloud infrastructure
• Optimize data pipelines and storage efficiency
  
  

Performance Optimization

• Improve query performance using:
• Materialized Views
• Clustering
• Micro-partitioning
• Result caching
• Debug and optimize SQL queries and business logic
  
  

Security & Access Management

• Implement and manage:
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• User roles and privileges
• Configure and maintain:
• SSO (Okta), AD group integration
• Encryption policies
• Network policies
• Row-level and masking policies
  
  

Data Integration & Tools

• Support integrations with:
• Tableau
• SAS
• Python
• JDBC-based applications
• Troubleshoot data issues and ensure data integrity
  
  

CI/CD & Deployment

• Manage CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments
• Oversee schema changes and version control
• Ensure smooth release and deployment processes
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to:
• Automate manual processes
• Optimize data workflows
• Reduce operational costs
• Ensure scalability and reliability of Snowflake platform
  
  

Must-Have Skills

• 13 years of IT experience with strong Snowflake Administration focus
• Hands-on expertise in:
• Snowflake architecture and administration
• Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Cloning
• Strong Python scripting for automation
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting
• Deep understanding of AWS (S3, EC2, EKS)
• Strong experience in:
• Performance tuning and query optimization
• Security (RBAC, SSO, Okta, AD integration)
• Experience managing multi-environment Snowflake setups

• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
• Exposure to data warehousing and ELT frameworks
• Knowledge of Tableau, SAS integrations

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
