Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Administration
- Administer Snowflake environments (Dev, QA, Prod, Global)
- Create and manage:
- Databases, schemas, tables, views
- External stages and storage integrations
- Manage and optimize:
- Multi-cluster warehouses
- Query performance and workload scaling
- Implement and manage Snowflake features:
- Streams, Tasks, Cloning, Time Travel
- Develop Python scripts to automate Snowflake administrative tasks
- Enhance and maintain Python-based ELT pipelines
- Utilize Unix shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency
- Work with AWS services including:
- S3, EC2, EKS
- Support Snowflake integration with cloud infrastructure
- Optimize data pipelines and storage efficiency
- Improve query performance using:
- Materialized Views
- Clustering
- Micro-partitioning
- Result caching
- Debug and optimize SQL queries and business logic
- Implement and manage:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- User roles and privileges
- Configure and maintain:
- SSO (Okta), AD group integration
- Encryption policies
- Network policies
- Row-level and masking policies
- Support integrations with:
- Tableau
- SAS
- Python
- JDBC-based applications
- Troubleshoot data issues and ensure data integrity
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments
- Oversee schema changes and version control
- Ensure smooth release and deployment processes
- Identify opportunities to:
- Automate manual processes
- Optimize data workflows
- Reduce operational costs
- Ensure scalability and reliability of Snowflake platform
- 13 years of IT experience with strong Snowflake Administration focus
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Snowflake architecture and administration
- Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Cloning
- Strong Python scripting for automation
- Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Deep understanding of AWS (S3, EC2, EKS)
- Strong experience in:
- Performance tuning and query optimization
- Security (RBAC, SSO, Okta, AD integration)
- Experience managing multi-environment Snowflake setups
- Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
- Exposure to data warehousing and ELT frameworks
- Knowledge of Tableau, SAS integrations
- Experience in enterprise-scale Snowflake deployments
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
