Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Compliance
- Lead execution and documentation of the Plant Food Safety Program
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, CCP, FDA, and product release requirements
- Manage pest control and sanitation programs
- Oversee foreign material control and CAPA processes
- Conduct internal GMP and quality system audits
- Support external and regulatory audits (FDA, USDA, AIB, State)
- Ensure adherence to corporate and plant quality SOPs
- Identify and implement improvements to quality systems and processes
- Manage microbial sampling plans and environmental monitoring programs
- Ensure compliance with swabbing, testing, and microbiological standards
- Drive quality and food safety improvements across operations
- Analyze data and trends to identify risks and corrective actions
- Enhance product quality, safety, and operational efficiency
- Provide food safety training to plant operations teams
- Track, measure, and report plant quality KPIs
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Food Science, or related field (or Bachelor's 3 years of additional food safety experience)
- Minimum 3 years of food safety experience in manufacturing
- Experience managing sanitation and cleaning programs
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance
- 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Certifications: PCQI, HACCP, SQF
- Experience with data tools (Domo, Smartsheets, Minitab)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Background in microbiology or Client manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Onsite role in a manufacturing facility
- Flexible schedule required (including occasional weekends)
- Fast-paced production environment
