Key Responsibilities
Transmission & Distribution Engineering
- Perform structural and line design analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Caisson.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for modeling and analysis across transmission and distribution systems.
- Review and design pole foundations for new and existing installations.
- Maintain and update engineering design specifications, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Support development of new engineering projects based on data collection, research, and analysis.
- Present new ideas to improve engineering processes and business efficiency.
- Analyze data for strategic decision-making in new and ongoing engineering initiatives.
- Support construction teams by resolving design-related issues.
- Conduct field inspections as needed.
- Assist with emergency restoration efforts related to wildfires, storms, or other system incidents.
- Oversee QA/QC engineering processes to ensure quality, safety, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with:
- California GO95
- NESC
- ASCE codes and engineering standards
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to SCE's transmission engineering practice.
- Mentor less experienced engineers in design methods, tools, and best practices.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- California Civil PE License (required) .
- 7 years of technical experience in transmission and/or distribution line engineering.
- Strong experience with California utility engineering standards including GO95, NESC, and ASCE.

- Experience with:

- Experience supporting utility emergency response (storms, wildfire restoration).
