Shift Details

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Alternate shifts may include: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
• 36 Hours per Week
  
  

The RN - Emergency Department is responsible for delivering immediate, high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ER setting. This role focuses on rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and treatment of patients with acute and life-threatening conditions.

The RN must demonstrate strong critical thinking, advanced clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Excellence

• Provide immediate and direct patient care using the nursing process
• Perform triage and assess severity of patient conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions
• Deliver compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EHR
  
  

Emergency Response & Clinical Intervention

• Identify urgent medical issues and initiate life-saving measures
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Care for high-acuity and complex emergency cases
• Perform specimen collection and diagnostic support
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
  
  

Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds
• Support discharge planning and patient transitions
• Communicate patient progress and care plans effectively
  
  

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain clinical competencies and continuing education (minimum 16 hours/year)
• Utilize resources efficiently and support operational excellence
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Active RN License - Illinois (Required)
• BLS & ACLS Certification (Required)
• PALS Certification (Required)
• Minimum 1-3 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience
• Strong critical thinking and ability to work under pressure
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program
• SANE Certification (preferred)
• Experience in high-acuity emergency settings
