The RN will follow clinical standards, provide patient education, and respond effectively to changes in patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Excellence
- Develop and document patient care plans within required timelines
- Perform patient interventions with age-specific competency
- Provide high-quality nursing care in PCU settings
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes
- Interpret diagnostic data and notify physicians of critical values
- Administer medications and IV therapy as per protocols
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions
- Verify physician orders, medications, and procedures
- Coordinate diagnostic tests and treatment plans
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance
- Follow hospital protocols and safety standards
- Maintain compliance with medication administration guidelines
- Ensure proper patient identification and documentation
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Active RN License (South Carolina or Compact State)
- BLS Certification (AHA - Required)
- ACLS & NIHSS (Required within orientation period)
- Strong clinical and patient care skills
- Experience in PCU / Telemetry
- CCRN Certification (Preferred)
- Strong step-down or critical care experience
- Critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Strong communication skills
