Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction across multiple large or complex commercial construction projects.
- Develop and execute full business and strategic plans aligned with JE Dunn's company objectives and Key Success Indicators (KSIs).
- Assist senior leadership with corporate strategy development and implementation.
- Promote and lead a strong safety culture through personal actions and team mentorship.
- Investigate safety incidents, enforce compliance, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Serve as the primary executive contact for clients, managing long-term relationships and cultivating new business opportunities.
- Lead project-specific guidance based on broader client strategies.
- Oversee all project lifecycle phases including preconstruction, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and performance analysis.
- Lead internal and external teams in the development of estimates, contracts, schedules, and constructability reviews.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained relative to schedules and project needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams to achieve excellence in execution.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project, financial, and contractual risks.
- Manage change orders, contingency use, and fee enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to corporate risk management policies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
- Oversee subcontractor selection and performance strategies.
- Represent JE Dunn in community and industry networks; serve on boards and act as a company ambassador.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 15 years of commercial construction management experience (Preferred).
- 5 years in a people management role (Required).
- Proven success in leading multiple large or complex projects or teams (Required).
- Experience managing large-scale projects ($50M ) (Preferred).
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication; excellent presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project/accounting tools (e.g., CMiC).
- Strong understanding of Lean principles and construction technologies.
- Expertise in project planning, budgeting, estimating, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with MBE, WBE, and SBA regulations.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships internally and externally.
- Office environment with site visits as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional overnight travel and extended hours may be required.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures during site visits.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking; occasional bending, climbing, and reaching.
