Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for inpatient nursing units (MedSurg, PCU, ICU).
- Collaborate with the CNO to develop and implement nursing standards, quality initiatives, and patient care policies.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and productivity to ensure safe patient ratios and efficient operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and staff engagement.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient safety, quality metrics, and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Partner with multidisciplinary leaders (medical, ancillary, and administrative teams) to achieve organizational goals.
- Manage budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation for inpatient departments.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulatory standards.
- Support recruitment, training, and retention of nursing staff.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership and clinical staff to promote transparency and collaboration.
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - Required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting (Manager or Director level).
- Strong Med-Surg background or prior experience required.
- Demonstrated success in managing inpatient clinical operations and nursing teams.
- Licensure / Certifications:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice/residence.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Proven leadership and team-building ability.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
