We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery (L&D) to lead clinical operations in Florence, AL. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in L&D practices, and a commitment to delivering high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit
- Lead, mentor, and manage nursing staff and clinical teams
- Ensure adherence to L&D protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate patient care and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards
- Handle performance management, staff development, and conflict resolution
- Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
- Certifications required:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
- Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager level)
- Strong understanding of OR processes and L&D protocols
- Clean and active nursing license (no disciplinary actions)
- Experience in other nursing areas such as ICU
- 10 years of overall nursing experience
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- In-depth clinical expertise in L&D and maternal care
- Knowledge of OR processes and patient safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make critical decisions
- Strong organizational and operational management skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (required)
- Active RN License (Alabama or compact state preferred)
- Required certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
- Hospital Labor & Delivery unit
