Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to behavioral health patients
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor mental health status and respond to behavioral changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient care and progress accurately
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in Iowa or compact state license allowing practice in Iowa
- Prior experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing
- Experience in acute care or inpatient psychiatric settings
- Strong patient care and clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive and high-stress situations
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Graduate of a Registered Nursing program (required)
- Active RN License (Iowa or compact state)
- BCLS Certification (required)
- Behavioral Health / Psychiatric care setting
- Onsite role - facility-based work required
