This role requires hands-on experience with CNC machines, blueprint reading, tooling changes, and maintaining quality standards while ensuring operational efficiency during the 3rd shift.
Key Responsibilities
Machining Operations
- Operate two or more CNC/NC machines to perform precision machining tasks
- Execute operations based on blueprints, operation sheets, and specifications
- Load programs, change tooling, and manage automatic tool changes
- Assist in machine setup and calibration as directed
- Support troubleshooting and correction of machining control malfunctions
- Ensure proper sequencing of operations for efficient production
- Inspect parts using gauges and measuring instruments
- Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and tolerances
- Identify and escalate defects or inconsistencies
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments
- Maintain machines and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Ensure proper material handling between workstations
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
- Apply judgment to perform tasks within established processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Minimum 1 year of CNC machine operation experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Experience with tooling changes and machine setup support
- Familiarity with measuring tools and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY (No relocation provided)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship available)
- Ability to work 3rd shift (overnight hours)
