Essential Responsibilities
People Leadership & Development
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to respiratory therapy staff
- Develop staff through training, professional growth opportunities, and performance management
- Foster collaboration, engagement, accountability, and open communication across teams
- Delegate effectively while supporting staff development and decision-making
- Translate business plans into operational action plans
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and allocation of respiratory therapy resources
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, union agreements, and KP standards
- Remove operational barriers and implement process improvements
- Lead implementation of respiratory care standards, protocols, and evidence-based practices
- Guide teams in complex clinical projects and long-term initiatives
- Ensure teams are trained on current respiratory equipment and evolving industry standards
- Support ongoing clinical education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Maintain patient, staff, and member confidentiality and data security
- Identify and mitigate patient and staff safety risks
- Oversee reporting, investigation, and resolution of incidents and safety events
- Manage personnel, equipment, and supply resources efficiently

- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care
- Minimum 7 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Minimum 3 years of respiratory leadership / management experience
- Recent inpatient respiratory care experience
- Recent experience working in a union environment
- BLS Certification (active at hire)
- RT NICU experience
- Experience managing respiratory services across multiple units or sites
- Proven leader in acute inpatient respiratory care
- Strong union environment experience
- Hands-on respiratory clinical background with leadership depth
- Operationally strong with a quality-and-safety mindset
