- Supervises: Quality Staff and Clinical Educator
- Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
- Active RN (Registered Nurse) license (Iowa or eligible)
- Minimum 5 years of leadership/management experience in:
- Quality Improvement
- Risk Management
- Nursing / Healthcare Operations
Quality / Performance Improvement / Accreditation
- Lead organization-wide Quality & Performance Improvement programs
- Serve as Patient Safety Officer
- Drive regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.)
- Lead external audits, surveys, and mock inspections
- Develop and present quality metrics and performance reports
- Oversee infection prevention and control programs
- Manage incident reporting systems and quality data analytics
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to improve patient outcomes and care quality
- Lead enterprise risk management strategy and execution
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate clinical and operational risks
- Oversee incident investigations, claims management, and liability exposure
- Develop and maintain Risk Management Plan and annual reports
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements
- Manage patient complaints, grievance handling, and service recovery
- Support legal processes including claims, litigation, and documentation
- Conduct FMEA, RCA, and Sentinel Event investigations
- Engage with medical staff, leadership teams, and Board of Directors
- Lead quality committees and cross-functional initiatives
- Mentor and develop staff within quality and risk functions
- Promote a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) (required within 1 year of hire)
- CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred
- Experience in Joint Commission and CMS regulations
