The CT Tech will ensure safe patient positioning, accurate scanning, image optimization, proper documentation, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced imaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans and related imaging procedures as ordered by providers
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Prepare patients for imaging including screening for contraindications and contrast use (as applicable)
- Operate CT equipment and select appropriate imaging protocols for optimal diagnostic results
- Apply radiation safety practices including ALARA principles
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Ensure image quality, labeling, and documentation are accurate and complete
- Maintain equipment readiness, perform quality checks, and report issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, nurses, ordering providers, and imaging team members
- Maintain compliance with hospital policy, infection control, and patient privacy standards (HIPAA)
- Support radiology department operations including coverage flexibility as needed
ARRT AZ License - CT: Required
Experience: 1-2 years of CT imaging experience required
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience in hospital imaging / trauma / emergency imaging workflows
- Strong IV/contrast experience (if applicable per facility protocols)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong patient communication and compassionate care approach
- Experience with PACS/RIS and EMR documentation
- CT imaging procedures & protocols
- Patient positioning and scan optimization
- Radiation safety / ALARA compliance
