This role includes managing multiple client relationships, leading engagement teams, and contributing to business development. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple tax engagements across industries from planning through execution
- Provide strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting expertise
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complex tax returns and ASC 740 provisions
- Manage engagement economics (budget, realization, utilization, AR, expenses)
- Drive business development, identify growth opportunities, and expand client relationships
- Serve as primary client contact and build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Mentor, develop, and evaluate staff across multiple levels
- Research complex tax issues and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with internal specialists including WNTO
- Ensure adherence to professional standards and confidentiality
- Participate in industry events and professional development
- Active CPA or JD/active law license (CPA strongly required)
- 5-7 years of progressive tax compliance or tax consulting experience
- Strong experience in ASC 740 tax provision (prep, review, audit)
- Recent experience with Top 20 public accounting firms
- Willingness to work hybrid (minimum 3 days onsite in Chicago office)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Deep expertise in corporate income tax & ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and corporate tax regulations
- Experience in multi-state taxation, international tax, and transfer pricing
- Strong engagement management and leadership experience
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax technology skills
- Exceptional communication, client management, and presentation skills
- Experience in public accounting / professional services (Top 20 firms preferred)
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP)
- Exposure to diverse industries (Manufacturing, Technology, Pharma, etc.)
