The Corporate Tax Manager will be part of the Corporate Tax Solutions practice, supporting business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (tax provision preparation and audit support). This role includes managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and collaborating with internal specialists to deliver comprehensive tax solutions for large, multi-state and global organizations.

The Corporate Tax Manager will be part of the Corporate Tax Solutions practice, supporting business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (tax provision preparation and audit support). This role includes managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and collaborating with internal specialists to deliver comprehensive tax solutions for large, multi-state and global organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax engagements from planning through completion
- Oversee corporate tax compliance and review tax returns for accuracy and optimization
- Prepare/review ASC 740 income tax provisions and support audits
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate associates and senior associates
- Identify opportunities to expand services with existing and prospective clients
- Conduct tax research and provide technical consultation on complex issues
- Respond to IRS and state/local tax authority inquiries
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across all levels
- Utilize tax software to prepare and process returns
- Ensure adherence to professional standards and confidentiality
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Active CPA (California) or JD with active law license
- 4-7 years of progressive tax compliance or tax consulting experience
- Strong experience in corporate tax & ASC 740 (prep, review, audit)
- Recent experience with Top 15 public accounting firms or large regional firms
- Experience supporting large, multi-state/national/global companies
- Willingness to work onsite (minimum 2-3 days/week)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Strong expertise in corporate income tax & ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
- Proficiency in US GAAP and corporate tax regulations
- Experience with multi-state taxation, international tax, and transfer pricing
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax technology skills
- Strong client service, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven engagement management experience
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP)
- Stable career progression (no frequent job changes every 1-2 years)
- Candidates currently at Manager level (1-2 years experience preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
