What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor Compliance Specialist position at Veracity Compliance?
We are seeking a Labor Compliance Specialist to join our growing team. This position will begin as part-time for the first 30 days (training & onboarding period) and then transition to full-time based on performance and project workload.
This role is primarily focused on oversight and compliance monitoring, with a good portion of hands-on work — processing certified payroll, dispatching apprentices, and preparing reports for certain contractors and projects.
We are looking for someone interested in long-term growth: the ideal candidate will have the potential to be promoted into a client-facing position in the future, where they will deliver presentations, host lunch-and-learns, and represent Veracity Compliance with clients.
- Oversight & Compliance Monitoring: Review certified payroll records for accuracy, verify compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, and generate compliance reports for clients.
- Hands-On Certified Payroll Processing: Process CPRs using platforms such as LCPtracker, Prism, Emars, Elations, BCA, and DIR for specific contractors and projects.
- Apprenticeship Management: Dispatch apprentices, track ratios, and ensure DAS-140/142 compliance.
- HUD/Section 3 & Workforce Reporting: Maintain documentation for Section 3 participation, workforce diversity metrics, and strategic workforce development reports.
- Client Support: Work directly with contractors to correct payroll discrepancies, submit documentation, and meet project deadlines.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot compliance challenges quickly to avoid delays or penalties.
- Career Growth Opportunity: Candidates interested in growing into a client-facing role will have opportunities for promotion into a position that includes presentations, training sessions, and direct client engagement.
Required:
- 2 years of experience in labor compliance, construction payroll, or public works administration.
- Proficiency with certified payroll platforms (LCPtracker, Prism, Emars, Elations, BCA, DIR).
- Knowledge of prevailing wage, apprenticeship, and HUD/Section 3 requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage oversight tasks while also performing direct, hands-on work.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to grow into a client-facing role.
