What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Coordinator position at Ver Duin's Inc.?
We are looking to add a creative and enthusiastic team member who is eager to learn more about the printing and marketing industries. The position is our front line working directly with customers to take in jobs, write up orders, create quotes for our customers, distribute workload to production, ensure deadlines are met and prepare the job for billing. This position is responsible for the scheduling of all jobs in our shop to ensure timely production.
Because we are a small shop, this position will also share in other responsibilities like general cleaning, arranging displays and light bindery work on occasion.
Qualifications we'd like to see:
- Be detail oriented
- Organizational skills to maintain production flow
- Lift from the floor, and carry, a carton of paper (60 lbs.)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Use a variety of computer software and learn new programs and procedures quickly.
- Above average math skills for quoting projects
- Be upbeat or a ‘people’ person to interact with customers daily.
- Have good written and spoken communications skills
- Legible handwriting
Bonus Qualifications, but we can train:
- Familiarity with digital and offset printing functions.
- Tell the difference between 1, 2 and 4 color printing.
- Know common paper sizes and their names
- Know common printing terms.
Prospective employees must be punctual, honest, outgoing, upbeat, and neat. Being a 'people' person is helpful as this position works directly with the public and answers phones which does not lend itself to remote working.
Working hours for this position are 8:30-5:30, Monday - Friday with a scheduled one-hour break for lunch. Flexible unpaid time off, sick leave, paid holidays, and vacation accrues after 1 year.
Associates Degree or some college is preferred. This is an entry level position and experience isn't required but helpful. Pay range is $17-18/hr based on experience or ability. Step increases in compensation as the employee demonstrates proficiency at the skills listed above to a possible maximum of $19/hr currently.
