Position Details:
- Job Title: Project Manager
- Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)
- Work Schedule: Onsite every Tuesday and Wednesday (No remote-only option)
- Duration: Long-term contract with potential extension
- Interview: 60-minute Virtual Interview via Microsoft Teams (Video Required)
Important Requirement:
Candidates must currently reside within 90 miles of Lansing, Michigan . This is a mandatory client requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large, high-visibility strategic IT projects from initiation through completion.
- Coordinate project activities involving executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
- Monitor project scope, risks, quality, timelines, and costs while ensuring successful project delivery.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, executive sponsor meetings, and project governance activities.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve project issues and risks while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure successful implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of Project Management experience managing complex IT projects.
- 5 years working in matrix organizations with cross-functional teams.
- 5 years resolving complex, high-priority issues and competing business requirements.
- 5 years applying Project Management methodologies, principles, and best practices.
- 5 years working with system development methodologies for new system implementations and enhancements.
- 5 years of experience with data infrastructure concepts and data governance.
- Strong experience with stakeholder communication, executive reporting, risk management, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a State Government or Public Sector environment.
- Experience serving in roles such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar leadership positions.
