Job Summary:
As a Staff Accountant at Venture Solar, you'll leverage your strong accounting foundation and meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of our financial records. This role offers a chance to contribute directly to a fast-paced, growing company in the renewable energy industry. We're seeking a motivated individual who is eager to take ownership of key accounting tasks, collaborate effectively with the team, and continuously improve our processes.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with processing invoices, payments, and expense reports. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Support the accounts receivable process, including invoicing and collections.
- General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Month-End Close: Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
- Ad-Hoc projects: Support the Controller and other members of the finance team with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the solar or construction industry is a plus, but not required.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Salesforce and Sage accounting software is a plus.
