The Role
This position involves a comprehensive range of site development tasks, including layout and design, grading, and construction administration. You will work closely with architects and planners to deliver high-quality site solutions that are functional, sustainable, and safe for educational use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Design & Planning: Coordinate with architects and educational planners to design site layouts, grading plans, vehicular access, parking, and athletic fields.
- Assessments: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new and existing educational facilities.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet local building codes, ADA standards, and specific educational facility regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, technical specifications, and accurate cost estimates.
- Sustainability: Integrate sustainable design principles, including advanced stormwater management and green infrastructure.
- Construction Support: Provide construction administration, responding to RFIs and resolving field issues during the school construction phase.
- Technical Execution: Utilize CAD and BIM tools to produce and revise high-level engineering documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a specific focus on educational or institutional projects.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to interface effectively with public sector clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Travel: Ability to travel to various project sites across the Lexington/Kentucky area as needed (travel costs are covered).
Compensation & Benefits
