About the Role
The Branch Manager works under the leadership of AVP, Regional Manager Member Services, to deliver high quality service to our membership and internal staff. Maintains responsibility for planning, directing and overseeing the operational activities of staff and ensures compliance with all established policies and procedures. In addition, they will oversee the development of employees while upholding VCCU’s Shared Values and Mission working in the best benefit of our membership and community partners.
This position is based at our Ventura location.
What You’ll Do
- Provides dynamic leadership to maintain employees’ focus on members’ needs and increasing member engagement by proactively offering products and services which will meet their needs in a superior manner.
- Develops a highly effective team through effective training and coaching that keeps employees engaged, motivated and enabled to achieve assigned goals.
- Manage all employee processes for branch, including scheduling, timecards, hiring, training, appraisals, disciplinary actions, and career development.
- Fosters branch participation in community events in support of promoting awareness and growth. Attracts new members, primarily from but not limited to within the assigned market area; prospects for new membership relationships through professional networking events and membership development activities within the community.
- Oversee branch security, safety and loss prevention procedures. Ensures daily branch operations are conducted in accordance with established credit union policies as well as all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations; monitors all internal policy and procedure controls to safeguard the funds and assets of VCCU.
- Manages branch budget, including salaries and overtime expenses, reviews branch's staffing models when attrition occurs to make recommendations for potential modifications.
- Encourages and promotes relationships between branch and support department employees to ensure collaboration in meeting shared company objectives; fosters positive, open communication between branch employees and throughout organization. Ensures branch effectively collaborates with and supports internal sales partners (Wealth Advisors, Mortgage Loan Officers, and Business Development Officers).
- Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization; proactively plans, monitors and reports branch's performance.
What We’re Seeking
- A two-year college degree is required. Four-year college degree is preferred.
- Minimum (3) years’ experience required at a bank/Credit Union, demonstrating strong knowledge in financial product sales, branch operations, new accounts and lending.
- Required previous branch supervisory/management experience, directly managing bank/Credit Union operations and people.
- Fluency in Spanish banking terminology strongly desired.

- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and strategies to staff, top management, business stakeholders, and external partners.
