Barista Shift Leader

We are seeking skilled and customer service driven Barista Shift Leads to join our team at Vento Coffee! Part time & full time positions are available to experienced baristas!

The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, a desire to provide our customers with an exceptional coffee experience, and have enthusiasm to be a part of our vision as a young business. The Barista Shift Lead will be responsible for crafting and serving high-quality espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and other beverages to our customers in a fast-paced environment with a drive-thru. They will be reliable as a key holder, cash deposit lead, and held accountable for task completion during their shifts.

Hourly wage: Range posted ($14-$15 tips)

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Reliable, timely key holder, responsible for opening and closing the business.
• Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing our POS system and cash handling/deposit procedures.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea drinks, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and brewed coffee, according to our recipes and standards.
• Ensure that the coffee bar and equipment are clean and well-stocked, and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Operate and maintain all equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and blenders, according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of our coffee beans, brewing methods, and drink recipes, and make recommendations to customers based on their preferences.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and ensuring that the store is ready for the next day of business.
• Confirm all daily tasks are completed during their shift including fair delegation of tasks between themselves and the Barista they are paired with.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Barista, preferably in a specialty coffee shop or fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume setting, while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of customers and team members.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow recipes and guidelines accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Trustworthy keyholder and reliable to individually open/close business.
• Passion for coffee and a desire to continue learning about coffee culture and trends.
