What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at Venteon?
We were recently engaged in a new search for a Plant Controller position for a leading manufacturing company in the Tecumseh, MI area.
The Plant Controller will serve as the hands-on financial lead and sole accounting professional for the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for end-to-end plant accounting and finance execution, including month-end close, cost accounting, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute all plant-level accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
- Perform all cost accounting activities including standard costing, BOMs, routings, absorption, and variance analysis
- Maintain inventory valuation, cycle count reconciliation, and reserves
- Lead annual budget and rolling forecast processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7 years of manufacturing accounting or plant finance experience
- Strong cost accounting and inventory management expertise
- Hands-on ERP experience in a manufacturing environment
- Highly detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable as a sole contributor
