About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Field Engineer to support the testing, evaluation and quality assurance of concrete floor systems. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of industry standards including FF/FL, TR34, Fmin and DIN15185.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site testing of concrete floors using specialized equipment (e.g., laser profilers, dipsticks, F-min testing systems).
- Measure and analyze floor flatness (FF), floor levelness (FL), Fmin, and other relevant metrics.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance assessments against Fmin, TR34, and DIN 15185 standards.
- Document test results with high accuracy and maintain detailed field reports.
- Interpret and apply rigorous industry standards (ACI, ASTM, TR34, DIN 15185).
- Evaluate floor performance against specified tolerances and unique project requirements.
- Identify non-conformance issues and recommend immediate, effective corrective actions.
- Work directly with contractors, project managers, and site supervisors to communicate findings clearly.
- Provide technical guidance during active floor placement and finishing operations.
- Support construction teams in achieving compliance during live pours and finishing phases.
- Take full ownership of the remediation processes for any floors failing to meet required standards.
- Develop and meticulously track corrective action plans.
- Verify the effectiveness of remediation through rigorous re-testing and validation.
- Ensure project accountability by maintaining clear traceability of all issues and their resolutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent proven experience).
- 2 5 years of experience specifically in concrete floor testing, inspection, or construction quality control.
- Strong, working understanding of the following standards and metrics:
- FF/FL measurement (ASTM E1155)
- TR34 (UK Free Movement / Defined Movement floors)
- DIN 15185 (European standards for industrial floors)
- Hands-on experience using floor testing equipment and data analysis tools.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Active ACI Certification (e.g., Concrete Field Testing Technician) Preferred
- Experience with large-scale industrial floors (warehouses, distribution centers, logistics facilities) Preferred
