Production Associate Job Description
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Position Summary
A Production Associate I will be responsible for working with foam, PE, corrugated, and hardware materials to assemble custom fabricated packaging systems to our customer specifications. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Ventek culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate the following equipment: Hot Melt Equipment, Foam and Corrugate Balers, Heat Welders, Arm & Post Box Stitchers, Pallet Jacks, Handheld Inkjet Printers, Strapping Tools, Smart Heating Plate, Lantech & Cobra III Stretch wrappers
- Ensure all safety, quality, and operating procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- May require guidance or assistance of departments’ equipment, systems, and processes
- Assist in physical inventory at month end, year-end, and during audits
- Closely follow all manufacturing instructions for each job: CQS work instructions, product print, production packet, etc. and maintain and document quality checks confirming specifications for each job ran, including 1st piece and periodic checks
- Use Oracle system on PC to accurately report production data: work order number, piece count, labor time, etc. as well as maintain records on required forms
- Take required measurements using a tape measure, or other measuring device or gauge
- Maintain equipment as directed and assist maintenance with troubleshooting if necessary
- Perform machine/line adjustments necessary to create efficient setups and produce quality product
- Palletize and label finished and WIP product in an organized fashion utilizing safe methods for appropriate transportation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Basic blueprint reading skills
- Closely follow all manufacturing instructions
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures
- Perform all duties in support of Ventek’s quality and safety policies
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job, including but not limited to repetitive tasks, lifting up to 50 pounds, firm grasping, bending, stretching, stooping, reaching, standing for extended periods, and working in ambient summer temperatures
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma required
- Previous manufacturing experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Being reliable and able to work independently
