Position Summary

The Directional Drill Operator / Cable Plow Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining directional drilling and cable plowing equipment used in underground utility and fiber optic installation projects. This position plays a critical role in safely and efficiently completing underground infrastructure work while maintaining high-quality standards and protecting existing utilities.

What You'll Do

• Operate directional drilling and cable plowing equipment safely and efficiently
• Install underground telecommunications, fiber optic, and utility lines
• Read utility locates, site plans, and job specifications
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Work closely with laborers and crew members to complete projects on schedule
• Ensure all work is completed according to safety and quality standards
• Troubleshoot drilling and installation challenges in the field
• Maintain accurate jobsite documentation and communicate with supervisors
• Represent the company professionally on all jobsites
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating directional drills and/or cable plows preferred
• Knowledge of underground utility installation practices
• Ability to read locates and construction plans
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Dependable work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one
• Team player with strong communication skills
