Role Description
The Senior Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Shelton, CT. This role is responsible for reviewing individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax returns and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Senior Tax Manager will research tax issues, analyze financial data, and work with management related to tax planning opportunities. The Senior Tax Manager will collaborate with partners and team members to identify tax-saving opportunities, ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations, and support the firm’s proactive client service philosophy. Responsibilities also include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, mentoring staff, contributing to process improvements, and supporting the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service. Additional responsibilities may include participating in practice development initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement of internal processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Possess broad tax technical skills, including experience with closely held businesses, pass-through entities, and multi-state tax issues
- Strong skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation, including oversight of federal, state and local filings for businesses and individuals
- Possess expertise in Tax Law and Tax Regulation with the ability to interpret and apply current legislation and guidance to client situations
- Strong skills in Tax Planning and Tax Strategy with the ability to identify and implement proactive tax solutions for clients
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Must have 7 years of public accounting experience including supervising responsibilities
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software, as well as spreadsheet and document management tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with clients in a clear and down-to-earth manner
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
Compensation
Range is commensurate with the candidate's level of experience.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
