Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as shuttle buses, box trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, and heavy equipment including forklifts and tanker trucks.
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate tools like pallet jacks or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transit.
• Drive route-specific vehicles including school buses, tractor-trailers, or yard jockeys to deliver goods or transport personnel across designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to verify mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly to maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, deliveries, and vehicle condition in compliance with transportation regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding schedules, delays, or vehicle concerns to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws diligently to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements

• Valid Non-Commercial Driver’s License (non-CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks, shuttle buses, or heavy equipment like dump trucks or forklift trucks.
• Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using pallet jacks or manual techniques; experience with freight handling is preferred.
• Strong communication skills for clear interaction with team members and dispatchers.
• Familiarity with route driving including school bus routes or heavy haul operations is advantageous.
• Physical ability to move cargo, operate manual transmission vehicles, and perform routine vehicle checks comfortably. Pay: $21.67 - $26.71 per hour
