Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist them in seating arrangements or reservations using platforms like OpenTable or similar reservation systems.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, leveraging POS systems such as TOAST to ensure seamless transactions.
- Provide expert recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
- Engage with guests to ensure their needs are met, addressing any concerns with professionalism and a friendly approach.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests, maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and delivery, ensuring timely service in both casual and fine dining environments.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for billing, and manage cashiering duties confidently.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and restaurant policies to provide excellent guest relations.
- Support sanitation standards by adhering to food handling protocols and cleanliness guidelines in all areas of service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; experience in fine dining or nightclubs is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for reservations and transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and billing purposes.
- Culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for the food industry is essential.
- Outstanding communication skills to foster guest relations and teamwork within the restaurant environment.
