We are seeking an experienced Payroll/HR Generalist to manage the company's weekly payroll process and provide hands-on human resources support to plant management and employees. This role is a great fit for someone who is accurate, organized, responsive, and comfortable balancing payroll ownership with day-to-day HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time, including payroll calculations, reconciliation, and direct deposit processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and direct deposit questions.
- Review timecards and verify job-costing data for accuracy prior to payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable recordkeeping requirements.
- Review year-end tax information for accuracy and provide payroll reports to Accounting as needed.
- Support employee benefits administration.
- Verify weekly 401(k) payroll deductions and contributions with the plan vendor.
- Upload weekly HSA and FSA payroll deductions and contributions.
- Review medical invoices to ensure they align with employee payroll deductions.
Human Resources
- Provide administrative support across the Human Resources function.
- Respond to employee and public inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general HR matters, both in person and by phone.
- Complete employment verifications and respond to other authorized requests for information.
- Maintain accurate and organized personnel and medical files for current and former employees.
- Coordinate recruiting and onboarding activities for new hires.
- Cross-train in benefits administration, insurance, company policies, and other HR functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing full-cycle payroll and human resources responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of payroll and accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Experience with payroll software; Paycom experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Education
- College degree preferred.

- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.
