Phlebotomist / Patient Care Coordinator

Vela Wellness Clinic is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Phlebotomist / Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing team.

This position combines exceptional patient service with skilled phlebotomy and front desk responsibilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, is confident performing blood draws, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Prepare laboratory specimens and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
• Welcome patients and provide an outstanding first impression.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and questions.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments.
• Check patients in and out.
• Collect patient payments and assist with basic administrative duties.
• Assist with patient intake, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical information.
• Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking clinical supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming patient experience.
• Work collaboratively with providers and other team members to support daily clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Experience performing venipuncture with confidence and professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a medical office, laboratory, hospital, plasma center, or outpatient clinic.
• Experience with scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, or front desk operations.
