Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office administrative support with hands-on clinical duties to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional care delivery. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to support both patients and medical staff in a fast-paced, multi-specialty environment.
Our clinic specializes in allergy and immunotherapy services, internal medicine and geriatrics, pulmonary (lung) care, weight loss management, and vein procedures. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of services while making a meaningful impact on patient health.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, intake, and vital signs, while also assisting with clinical procedures and ongoing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Perform patient intake, including medical history, medication reconciliation, and vital signs
- Room patients and prepare them for provider evaluation and procedures
- Assist with allergy testing and administration of allergy injections, monitoring patients for reactions
- Support weight loss clinic services, including medication administration (e.g., injections) and patient education
- Assist providers with clinical procedures, including vein treatments and minor in-office procedures
- Support pulmonary (lung) care services, including preparing patients for breathing treatments or testing as needed
- Administer medications and assist with basic diagnostic procedures such as X-rays (if applicable)
- Accurately document patient encounters and assist with ICD coding
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage follow-up communications
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety standards, and Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols
- Deliver excellent patient care by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort
Requirements
- Prior experience in a clinical setting (outpatient clinic, internal medicine, geriatrics, pulmonary, or urgent care preferred)
- Experience with allergy testing/injections, weight loss programs, or vein procedures is a strong plus
- Familiarity with EHR systems, scheduling, and insurance verification
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and patient care practices
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, injections, and assisting with procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong focus on patient service
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
