Vedder Holsters is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to source and acquire goods, while also forecasting future demand to optimize inventory and guide supply chain operations. This role is critical to keeping our operations running smoothly across inventory, sales, marketing, and administrative teams.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, professional, and comfortable managing supplier relationships and analyzing data, with a strong focus on forecast accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers for goods, materials, and services.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure procurement aligns with company policies and quality standards.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other intelligence to predict future demand.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at various levels of aggregation (e.g., by SKU, region).
  • Monitor forecasts and make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather insights and align forecasts on current and future product
  • needs.
  • Work alongside with Inventory Manager to manage inventory levels.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of supplies to avoid out-of-stock materials.
  • Work with the inventory team to coordinate timely delivery.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and forecast accuracy.
  • Track expenditures and help manage budgets.
  • Identify and flag anomalies or exceptions in demand or inventory.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with purchasing and resource planning (ERP).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Experience in a purchasing or procurement role with experience in demand planning (Required)
