Vedder Holsters is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented IT Specialist to support and maintain our internal technology systems. This role is critical to keeping our operations running smoothly across production, shipping, customer service, and administrative teams.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, professional, and comfortable supporting both Windows and Apple environments, with a strong focus on system uptime, security, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support company IT systems, networks, and devices
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across departments
- Install, configure, and deploy computers, peripherals, and mobile devices
- Migrate users, systems, and data as needed (onboarding, upgrades, replacements)
- Manage and support Apple devices (macOS, iOS) — proficiency required
- Ensure systems, software, and security patches are kept current
- Assist with system improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives
- Support user access, permissions, backups, and security best practices
- Document systems, processes, and troubleshooting steps
- Provide timely, courteous, and professional support to all staff
- Balance multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in an IT support, IT specialist, or systems support role
- Strong proficiency with Apple devices and macOS environments (required)
- Solid understanding of Windows systems, networking, and common business software
- Experience troubleshooting both hardware and software issues
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain computers and user accounts
- Strong communication skills with a courteous, professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and suggest system improvements
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting small-to-mid-size business environments
- Familiarity with cloud services, security best practices, and backups
- Experience with user migrations, device lifecycle management, or automation tools
- Certifications (Apple, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.) are a plus but not required
