Role Description The HR Administrative Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Phenix City, AL. This position supports daily HR operations, including maintaining employee records, processing onboarding and offboarding documentation, and assisting with benefits and payroll administration. The HR Administrative Assistant will coordinate interviews and new hire orientation, schedule meetings and training sessions, and respond to routine employee inquiries in a professional and confidential manner. The role also includes preparing HR reports and correspondence, updating HR databases and personnel files, and supporting compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Collaboration with HR leadership and other departments is essential to ensure efficient administrative processes and a positive employee experience.
Qualifications
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including document management, scheduling, and data entry.
- Proficiency with HRIS or employee databases, and solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, managers, and external partners.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling confidential information, records, and HR documentation.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Understanding of basic HR processes (onboarding, benefits support, timekeeping, personnel file maintenance) is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Columbus, GA, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in HR support, administrative assistance, or office coordination in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial.
