THIS POSITION:
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for using machinery to manipulate metal into various shapes and forms. Press brake operators manufacture tools, metal, and other pieces of equipment using a press brake to make punches, bends, and cuts into sheet or plate metal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
- Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
- Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
- Measures and aligns materials to be used.
- Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Performs routine maintenance on the press brake.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Ability to safely and effectively operate press brake controls.
- Ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans (drawing/blueprint).
- Ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, and material specs.
- Basic computer and math skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a High School or higher degree.
- One year of experience in metal fabrication or related work is preferred.
- At least one years' experience using a brake press machine (Trumpf, Accupress, Baykal, and/or Bystronic machines preferred).
- At least one years' experience with CNC controls, tooling setup, and performing routine maintenance.
- Proficient in computer-based systems (SAP experience preferred).
Salary range:
$22 to $28 per hour depending on experience
