What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOW VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN position at VEC, Inc.?
Qualifications
- MS Office experience with the ability to utilize Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point
- Trouble Shooting Experience with Structured Cabling and/or SMB Phone Systems
- Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Ability to work Full Time or Over Time any hours necessary
- Some overnight travel is required
- Maintain system documentation and departmental procedures
- Pulling/Terminating/Testing of Low Voltage Cabling (CAT 5/5e/6/6a and Fiber Optics)
- Installing J Hooks, Dressing Cable, or Building Racks Dressing Communication Closets / Patch Panels or Punching 66 and/or 110 Blocks
- Terminating Phone or Data Jacks (RJ45, RJ6, RJ11, etc.)
- Servicing T-1’s and other Phone Lines Phone Systems (PBX-Key Systems (Avaya/Nortel/NEC)
- Conducting Customer Walk-Through’s/Site Surveys
- Trouble Shooting Experience with Structured Cabling and/or SMB Phone Systems
- Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Ability to work Full Time or Over Time any hours necessary
- Work is performed in both an office setting as well as in the field.
- The office is a temperature controlled environment.
- The field conditions will vary depending upon the project/work being done.
