Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator (Excavator/Dozer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment including a dozer and excavator on construction sites. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment while adhering to all safety protocols.

This position requires shift work including weekends/overnight.

This position is located in New Bern and Aurora, NC

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Safely transport materials using dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and front loader trucks when needed.
• Collaborate with team members to execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines while operating machinery to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Sit for long periods of time
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.

Experience

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation with a focus on construction machinery.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge related to the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment is essential.
• Experience operating farm machinery is a plus.
• Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery and other industry-standard equipment is desirable. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a commitment to safety at all times.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
